Performance

Ramiro was consistently successful as a young horse, winning the Indoor Spring Championship in Ireland as a 4yr old, and the Dublin 4 yr old final;  he was 1st in the Cavan 5 yr old class 99; and 1st in the 6/7 year old class at Cavan ’01. Winner, and placings, in county GP and international GP from 2002 onward (1st North Wexford and Pontedere)

Ramiro’s volume of 3* and 4* competitors have elevated him to 2015 #2 event sire.

Examples of his offspring include Ballynoe Castle RM (3rd in Kentucky 4* ’14), Cooley Masterlcass (3* winner Ballindenisk ’15), Westwinds Hercules (winner 2* Mallow ’14, winner Nations Cup Boekelo 2015), and Cooley SRS (2* winner Floors Castle ’14).

In 2015 Ballynoe Castle RM won the 3* classes at both Richland and Allentown and has become the horse with the most FEI points ever won in North America.

In February 2016 Westwinds Hercules and Joseph Murphy were selected to represent Ireland in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Ramiro is also a proven jumping sire. Ramiro Cruise  (7yr Champion at Auvers ’14) has had numerous international placings in 2015.  He was produced by Dave Quigley in the UK, and now as an 8 yr old in 2015 he jumped to 5* level at Glocks’ September show with clears and placings. He was also 2nd in the 1.55m GP at Lier.

Samgemgee has Grand Prix wins; Heaven was the Italain 7yr champion; Ramiro’s Gift was a finalist in the Lanaken 6yr olds,.  Heracross now jumps at GP level.

Ramiro B offspring continue to top the sales – in the 2014 Go for Gold sale a 3yr Ramiro B made €53,500; in the 2015 Go for Gold sale, the two highest price 3 yr olds were sons of Ramiro B making €42,000 and €36,000; in Feb ‘13 the Goresbridge sales topper was a 6yr Ramiro B; in the Autumn Foal Sales at Goresbrige 2012 two Ramiro B foals were top prices; at the Tattersalls Elite sales 2010, Garrybritt Bonny was the top price at €23,000.
